Pasir Panjang Primary School was constructed in the 1930s at the end of Yew Siang Road where it survived the tumultuous days of World War II. The school shut down in 1986 and the premise was later used as a drug rehabilitation centre named Breakthrough Missions.

The primary school was in fact one of four schools in Pasir Panjang at one time, the other three schools being Batu Berlayar School, Pasir Panjang Secondary School and Labrador Primary School.
